ABOUT

Hello! I’m Maja, and I come from Croatia, but living in rainy Netherlands. Welcome to my blog Majanalytics! This blog is here to teach you Statistics & Analytics, both overall and in specific fields. It also serves as a private portfolio filled with guides on how to start discovering data. I have big love towards data and marketing, and I’m happy to officially join the analytics community this way, after many years of being in the industry.

Throughout my studying and career, I have seen a lot of students, colleagues, stakeholders and team members struggling with statistics and analytics, as it was not their main career focus. That is why I am on a mission to change that, and write layman articles about even the most complicated topics, to show they can easily learn it.

Professionally, I have worked for a big renowned consultancy company in Europe called IBM for more than 1,5 years, primarily using Adobe Analytics. After that, I moved to the Netherlands, where I plan to stay permanently. Right now, I’m taking some free time to explore my next opportunities and see what life has to offer.

Tools and programming languages that I’m currently using are:

  • Adobe Analytics
  • R and R Studio
  • SQL
  • Google Analytics – gained both beginner and advanced certificates on Google Academy and got hands-on experience
  • MS Office suite (especially Excel)
  • Tableau

I have been immensely lucky to gain loads of versatile and worthy experience.

I can make theory happen in practice, aka – I’m a very quick learner and can start doing practical things immediately after learning (marketing, finance, data analytics) withing a few days or weeks, depending on the scope and my existing knowledge.

Future learning plans are to learn Machine Learning, tackle serious Data science, and progress on Kaggle by joining competitions.
